Ruby Louise Esser, 76, of Sedalia passed away Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born on December 26, 1944, in Warsaw, MO, a daughter of Charles William and Gertrude Laura (Davio) Garrett. On June 15, 1963, in Sedalia, MO, she married Floyd Louis Leroy Esser, Jr. and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2003.
Ruby was a 1963 graduate of Cole Camp High School and she attended Faith Chapel Church in Cole Camp. She enjoyed reading and playing computer games. Ruby loved her dogs, butterflies, sun flowers and yellow roses. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Floyd L. Esser III (Alexandria) of Sedalia, Ernest Esser (Freedom) of Sedalia, and Troy D. Esser (Jennifer) of Memphis, MO; one daughter, Virginia L. Hampton (Samuel “Billy”) of Cole Camp, MO; two brothers, Henry Garrett of Independence, and Billy Garrett (Patricia) of Osceola; four sisters, Katherine Dietzman of Sedalia, Emma Collister, of Warsaw, Lizzabelle Kroenke of Sedalia, and Hazel Moore of Smithton; two sisters-in-law, Betty Garrett, and Dorothy Garrett; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to both of her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by four children at birth; three brothers, Charles Garrett, Albert Garrett, and Bobby Paul Garrett; two sisters, Margaruiette Kinyon Vansel, and Bonita Joann Ryan.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Heckart Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the family of Ruby Esser.
