Alvin Walker, 79, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born April 26, 1936, in Richmond, VA, son of Enoch and Anna Mae Hall Bowman. On February 8, 1958, in California, he married Roberta Baxter, who survives of the home.
Mr. Walker was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 90th Division AAA Unit in West Germany during the Cold War. He worked as a supervisor for Target.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, survivors include four children: Kenneth Walker (Catherine), of Weatherford, TX, Kathrine Dodgen (Seab), of Sedalia, Keith Walker (Dei), of Dallas, TX, and Kent Walker, of Weatherford, TX; five grandchildren: Alvin, Austin, Jennifer, Lawrence and Alex; two brothers, Pat and Leonard, of California; and a sister, Peggy Nisson, of Wisconsin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Olathe, KS, with Jeff Page officiating. Military honors will be conducted.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
