Andrew J. Hoehne

Andrew John Hoehne, 30, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.

He was born May 23, 1983, in Kirkwood, MO, son of Rev. Ronald and Marie Busch Hoehne. On September 1, 2012, in Sedalia, he married Heather E. Hawkins.

Andrew was the Interim Chief of Police for the City of Smithton, and formerly served as a Pettis County Sheriff’s Deputy and as a dispatcher for the Macon Police Department. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and completed the police academy at University of Central Missouri. In his teenage years, he was the Sedalia Police Cadet commander. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 16 and was a concealed carry instructor.

His faith in God was of utmost importance to him. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. He was close to his Savior and loved his church.

He enjoyed hunting with his dad.

In addition to his wife, Heather, survivors include his parents, Rev. Ronald and Marie Hoehne, of Macon; a son, Jackson, of the home; three brothers, Matthew Hoehne, of Livonia, MI, Dr. Daniel Hoehne, of Massillon, OH, and Mark Hoehne (his twin), of Columbia; two sisters, Elizabeth Versemann, of Waverly, IA, and Sarah Erhart, of Kirksville; his paternal grandmother, Vernie Hoehne, of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 7, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Chris Kellogg and the Rev. Andrew Tessone officiating.

Casket bearers will be Matthew Hoehne, Daniel Hoehne, Mark Hoehne, Rodney Collins, Shawn Apel and Larry Parham.

Honorary bearers will be Nathan Hawkins, Chris Watson, Bob Watson, Mike DeHaven and Sean Bonchonsky.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, with honors conducted by the Sedalia Police Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, January 6, at Our Savior Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Jackson Hawkins education fund, the Missouri Kidney Program or the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 16.
