Andrew Wesley McCarty, 19, of Versailles, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020.
He was born December 18, 2000, in Fortuna, the third of five children “The A-Team” born to Wesley J. and Deborah A. (Youngblood) McCarty.
Andrew was homeschooled and graduated high school in 2019. He was a Christian and showed the love of Jesus toward everyone he was around.
He lived in Versailles most of his life. Being a “typical” middle child, he was a bit ornery, goofy and mischievous. At age 13, he joined the Civil Air Patrol where he learned valuable life and leadership skills and attained the rank Cadet MSgt.
Andrew loved mechanic work and at age 13, along with his brother, started training to be a mechanic by their father at McCarty Sales in Versailles as a 4
th
generation mechanic. He later worked as a motorcycle mechanic at Loganbill Motorsports. In January 2020, he started at Heartland Marine as a boat mechanic and was in the process of earning Mercury Marine certifications.
Andrew will be remembered for his love for Jesus, his love for going fast since the day he knew what fast was, his contagious smile, his generosity, the desire to make other people happy, and his unconditional love and forgiveness toward people.
He is survived by his parents, Wesley and Deborah, of Kona, HI; his siblings, Alyssa McCarty, of Columbia, Alec McCarty (Jasmine), Amber McCarty and Asher McCarty, all of Kona, HI; his paternal grandmother, Connie McCarty, of Tipton; his maternal grandparents, Roy and Beverly Youngblood, of Oceanside, CA; his girlfriend, Sierra Bishop, of Brumley; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Andrew’s Life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at The Door in Laurie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to The Door in honor of “McCarty Family” at 212 Faith Blvd, Gravois Mills, MO 65037.
