Anna Belle Kurtz Bronson

Anna Belle Kurtz Bronson, 95, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at Fair View Nursing Home.

She was born September 26, 1922, in Otterville, daughter of Wiley A. Reed and Alice Homan Reed Manning, who preceded her in death.

On April 30, 1955, in Sedalia, she married Ralph A. Kurtz, who died November 12, 1994. On November 8, 2003, she married John T. Bronson, who died January 6, 2014.

Anna was raised and educated in Otterville, graduating from Otterville High School in 1940. She attended Central Missouri State Teacher’s College in Warrensburg. She resided in Sedalia since 1941 and worked in the offices of Rice Leghorn Farm, Kim Originals, Bonnohue Loan and Investment Company, and Arthur J. Morgan, CPA, for 30 years.

She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church; the Helen G. Steele Music Club, serving as president for two years; Sedalia Jolly Elders, serving as secretary for three years; was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 2591, where she served as president for nine years and held the position of secretary and treasurer at various times in the local auxiliary and district auxiliary.

Surviving are two nephews, Virgil (Judy) Kurtz, of Sedalia, and Gene (Cindy) Kurtz, of Summerville, S.C.; seven stepchildren, James Bronson, Richard (Beverly) Jacobi, Larry (Cindy) Jacobi, Elizabeth (Larry) Sinn, Martha (Pedro) Hernandez, Louise Lightner and Kay Adams; nineteen step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 21, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Griffin officiating.

Casket bearers will be Ivan Ream, Alan Ream, John Bronson III, Stacy Rambo and William Claycomb.

Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Otterville.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
