Arline C. Monsees
Arline Catherine Monsees, 92, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017, at Lincoln Community Nursing Home.
She was born March 24, 1925, in Benton County, daughter of Conrad C. Schnakenberg and Lillie A. Holtzen Schnakenberg.
On March 24, 1945, at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Lincoln, she was married to Elmer J. Monsees, who preceded her in death on May 2, 1966.
Mrs. Monsees was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sedalia. She worked for many years at State Fair Community College in the cafeteria. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, and always brought joy and a good time to any occasion.
Surviving are two children, Kathryn Schumacher (Walter), of Ionia, and Martin Monsees, of Sedalia; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Emma Brockschmidt, of Sedalia.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Martin Schnakenberg; and three sisters, Hilda Schnakenberg, Paula Wischmeier and Augusta Wheeler.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 23, at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, north of Lincoln, with the Rev. Jeremy Freeman officiating.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.
