B. Jeanette Viebrock, 86, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at her home.
She was born November 22, 1938, in Green Ridge, a daughter of the late Alonzo F. and Zelma J. (Meredith) Moon. On June 3, 1956, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sedalia, she married Ralph Emil Viebrock, who preceded her in death on February 10, 2015.
Her family moved to Hughesville in 1944. She attended Hughesville school and graduated Valedictorian of the class of 1956.
She accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized at 11 years old at First Baptist Church in Hughesville. She joined St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in May 1956 and through the years was active in the choir, bereavement committee and served as church treasurer.
In her early years, she worked at Town and Country Shoes, Sage’s and Lockett’s. In 1970, Ralph founded Viebrock Construction & Equipment, Inc. and she served as president of the company until it sold in 2009.
Jeanette found joy in doing for others and gave willingly of her time in volunteer work as a “Pink Lady” at Bothwell Regional Health Center, hospice, delivering Meals on Wheels and was involved in Open Door from the beginning to the new building.
She enjoyed traveling to Florida with Ralph and their friends and looked forward to taking walks along the beach.
Survivors include three children, Debra Viebrock, of Grandview, Cynthia Moon (Steve), of Sedalia, and Stan Viebrock (Emily), of Kansas City; a sister, Helen M. Adams, of Smithton; three grandchildren, Joseph Moon (Amanda), of Sedalia, Jason Moon, of Sedalia, and Tanesha McCullen (John), of Greenwood; six great-grandchildren and one on the way.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Viebrock; and two sisters, Mary V. Elsbury and Aleta J. Hayes.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Monday, December 9, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sedalia with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 am with Rev. Jeremy Freeman officiating.
Pallbearers will be Cletus Tagtmeyer, Brett Opfer, Rick Yount, Steve Moon, Stan Viebrock and Joseph Moon. Honorary pallbearers will be John and Helene Wolf, Dean and Diane Ringen, Marvin and Patty Shull, Bob & Shirley Scott, Helga Treuner, Joyce and Adam Fischer and Carol Tagtmeyer.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Open Door Ministries in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
