Barbara Joan Silvey, 86, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born July 29, 1930, in Kansas City, daughter of Ernest and Juanita Kent Fuqua.
In 1948, she married Clarence “Edgar” Silvey, who preceded her in death on January 23, 2009.
Barbara enjoyed watching football, and the Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs. Her family was her greatest joy. She was very supportive of her son, Bryan, who has autism and was active in the Judevine Center in St. Louis.
She is survived by three daughters, Karen Kidwell (Randy), of Springfield, Susan Harrelson (Marvin), of Sedalia, and Tina Vansell (Jim), of Sedalia; three sons, Craig Silvey, Randy Silvey (Arlene), and Bryan Silvey, all of Sedalia; 15 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard and Rob; and a sister, Sandy Miller.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Silvey; two brothers, Gary and Bill; and a sister, Mary Lou.
Private family graveside services and burial will be held at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Randy Silvey, Jim Vansell, Jimmie Vansell, A.J. Silvey, Evan Schrock, Chris Silvey and Geoff Kidwell.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 11, at Heckart Funeral Home.
