Bernadette M. McMillen

Bernadette Maria McMillen, 61, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

She was born January 19, 1962, the daughter of Mary Jo Cariddi and Herschel Lee McMillen, Jr. She attended Hickman Hills High School in Kansas City.

She was the loving mother of Natasha Nichole McMillen and also leaves behind her three grandchildren whom she lived with. She spoiled them with cooking homemade Italian recipes from her Sicilian grandmother, Jennie Cariddi.

Surviving in addition to her daughter, Natasha, of Jefferson City, are her father, Herschel Lee McMillen Jr. (Denise), of Farmington, MO; three grandchildren, Jesse McMillen, Felicca McMillen and Jacob McMillen, all of Jefferson City; siblings, Jeffrey Lyn McMillen (Pam), of Independence, MO, and Catherine Marie McMillen, of Phoenix, AZ; half-brothers, Joseph McMillen (Tracy), of Queens, NY, and Jonathan McMillen (Amy), of O’Fallon, IL; half-sister, Gabrielle Borton (Jay), of Versailles, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jo McMillen; brother, James McMillen; grandparents, James and Jennie Cariddi, and Herschel McMillen Sr. and Betty Howey McMillen, from Kansas City.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2023, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery mausoleum chapel in Kansas City, MO.
