Betty Lou Keane, 90, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019, at her home.
She was born November 4, 1928, in Boise City, OK, daughter of Frederick Scott Moore and Clessie Bell (Simpson) Moore.
On June 3, 1951, in Sedalia, she married Fred R. Keane, Jr., who preceded her in death on May 26, 1992.
Betty worked as a registered nurse, retiring from Bothwell Regional Health Center. She formerly volunteered with the Red Cross, Open Door and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her care, love, compassion, encouragement and as a giver of hugs.
Surviving are two children, Aaron Keane (Deb), of Blue Springs, and Patricia Keane, of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Scott, Justin, Samantha and Tyler Keane; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Dee Keane; four brothers, Sheridan and John Finney, and Franklin and Clovis Moore; and a sister, Georgia Rank.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Rev. David Stephenson officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Heckart Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Great Circle (a youth home in Marshall), Crossroads Hospice, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
