Betty Lee Carter, 94, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born May 3, 1927, the daughter of Carl Mattox and Nora Olive (Clark) Mattox.
In 1948 she was married to Fred Wehmeyer who passed away in 1964. She then was married to Roy Carter who passed away in 1983.
Betty was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church. She was a waitress and bartender at the Old Missouri Homestead and later bartended at Maxine’s.
Surviving are daughter-in-law Kay Hicks; grandson David Wehmeyer (Maryanne); two great grandchildren Kassandra Wehmeyer and Tiffany Wehmeyer; and two great- great grandchildren Karley Wehmeyer and Howard Johnson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one son Billy Wehmeyer; granddaughter Carla Wehmeyer; great granddaughter Kaylee Beth Wehmeyer; two brothers William Homer Clark and Dilbert Clark; and sister Doris Mathewson.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Highland Sacred Gardens with Rev. Rusty Smith officiating.
Friends may sign the guest book from 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Heckart Funeral Home.
