Betty Virginia Starke, 92, of Otterville, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2020, at Tipton Oak Manor.
She was born July 23, 1928, in Sedalia, the only child of Harry and Hester (Swift) McMullin.
On January 5, 1951, in Harrison, AR, she was married to Carl K. “Punk” Starke, who preceded her in death on September 26, 1993.
Betty was the owner and operator of the Wagon Wheel Liquor Store in Otterville.
She loved her family and doting on them, and especially loved Christmas. Her porch was the daily gathering spot for neighbors and friends. She was an avid tap dancer and was the first in the car heading to the gambling boat.
Surviving are two children, Carla Helmig and Jill Starke, both of Otterville; daughter-in-law, Janet Brown, of California; grandchildren: Lisa Brown, Leslie Miller (Roger), Christy Wilfong (Jimmy), Carl Brown (Dawn), Cale Brown (Ashley), Tim Coe (Amy), Christy Pyle (Chad); sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and best friends, Jimmy and Kathy Page.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Brown; and grandchildren, Carey Helmig and Paisley Hibdon.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2020, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Otterville, with Bob Hardy officiating.
Memorials may be given to I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
