Billy J. Berry

Billy J. Berry, 66, of Green Ridge, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born November 13, 1954, in Warrensburg, a son of the late Glen H. and Altha Jane (Angel) Berry. On December 24, 1976, he was united in marriage to Barbara J. Geiser, who preceded him in death on August 21, 2021.

In his early years, Billy worked at S&S Concrete. He worked road construction and maintenance for the 12 mile Road District, which later became the Pettis County Highway Department for 20 years. After retirement, he stayed active mowing yards and helping people in Green Ridge and Sedalia.

He loved the outdoors, singing to the radio and a good cup of coffee. Billy was known to be stubborn, have strong opinion, a little bit ornery and loved to joke around. He will be remembered as a well-respected, honorable man, thoughtful of the many people in his world; a good husband, father and grandfather, who was fiercely protective of his family.

He is survived by children, Scotty, Tracy (Frere), Julie, Robert, Alexander, Andrea; grandchildren, Megan (Cook), Tristan, Austin, Emily, Robert, Staci, Patience, Robert, Jr., Jayden, Amelia; great-grandchild, Peyton; three brothers, Wayne, Mike and Terry; and four sisters, Louise, Wanda, Glenda and Virginia.

In addition to his wife, Barbara and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Larry; and a sister, Mary.

A Celebration of Billy’s Life will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Green Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. John Streit officiating.

Visitation will be noon until service time at the church.
