Billy Lee Watson, 84, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.
He was born August 24, 1931, in Sedalia, son of Oscar and Nora Fleming Watson.
Mr. Watson worked for Walker Publishing and later Inter-State Studios as a printing pressman. He was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church. He enjoyed golfing, and watching Cardinals and Royals baseball. Billy was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; three children, Marty Watson (Luella), Keith Watson, and Roger Watson (Kerri), all of Lincoln, NE; daughter-in-law, Gail Watson, of Richmond, MO; six grandchildren, Barbara, Alexis, Kirstie, Alex, Spencer and Sam; and a great-granddaughter, Grace.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard Watson; two brothers, Sam Watson and Oscar “Bus” Watson; and a sister, Dorothy Parker.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 1, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page officiating.
Casket bearers will be David Watson, Alex Watson, Travis Guthrie, Clyde Schwermer, Bob Engles and John “Bull” Higgins.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Air Force and VFW Post 2591.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 30, at Heckart Funeral Home.
