Bobby C. Salmon, 94, of Sedalia Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at his home.
He was born February 12, 1927, in Sedalia, the youngest son of the late Robert Sterling and Emma Florence (Drake) Salmon. On September 6, 1948, in Sedalia, he married Deloris Maye Naugel who preceded him in death on July 28, 2000. On May 21, 2005, in Sedalia, he married Vila Jean Schnakenberg Deuschle who survives of the home.
Bobby was a graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He served his country honorably in the US Navy 1944-1946 in the Pacific theater during World War II, then served six years in the Navy Reserves.
Bobby worked 35 years as a telephone repairman for Southwestern Bell, retiring in 1986. He was the telephone installer/repairman for the Missouri State Fair for several years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and attended the Celebration Center. He also held memberships in VFW Post 2591, American Legion Post 642, DAV, 40&8 and Telephone Pioneers. During his retirement he volunteered with many organizations in the area.
In addition to his wife, Jean, survivors include two children: Debbie Willard (Mel), of Laurie Mo, and Timothy Carl Salmon (Celia), of Seabrook, TX; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three stepchildren: Bruce Hass (Paula), of Concordia, Connie Hague (Wayne), of Warsaw and Robbie McAllister (Bruce), of Sedalia; ten step-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife, Deloris, and his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Ralph Drake, Arthur Donald, Alfred Norman; granddaughter Heather Willard Smith; and a stepson, Daniel Hass.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Candace Fowler officiating.
Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
