Bobby Gene Wells, 91, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday morning, April 30, 2023, at Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born November 24, 1931, in Howard County, son of Jesse Jeff and Stella Mae (Lusby) Wells.
On November 13, 1952, he married Helen Gertrude (Griffin). This union was blessed with two daughters, Sharon and Debra.
On December 28, 1996, in Sedalia, he married Mary Ann (Hanning), who preceded him in death on April 21, 2023.
Bobby was a mechanic most of his life, and later worked at Bothwell Regional Health Center and Cooper County Hospital as a custodian. He enjoyed working on cars and tinkering in his shed, traveling and camping with Mary Ann, and spending time outdoors. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Ann Whitehurse (David), of Boonville, and Debra McSpadden (Denny), of Boonville; four grandchildren, Brandon Wells, Shawn McSpadden, Kelly Brush and Camie Turner; four great-grandcihldren; a step-daughter, Angela Lewis; and a step-grandson, Tyler Lewis.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Jared “Jay” Wells; and infant daughter, Linda Delores; and a step-grandson, David Lange.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Heckart Funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be Denny McSpadden, Shawn McSpadden, David Whitehurse and Tyler Lewis.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
