Bobby J. Mullins

Bobby J. Mullins, 89, of Houstonia, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at his home.

He was born June 16, 1935, in Sedalia, son of William Joseph and Edith (Gatewood) Mullins.

On October 1, 1966, in Otterville, he was married to Elsie L. (Shackles), who preceded him in death on June 26, 2022.

Bobby was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a lifelong farmer and retired from the Saline County Road District. Besides staying busy tending the farm, he enjoyed fishing, working in the yard and garden, and riding motorcycles. He was a hard worker.

Survivors include five children: Dennis Mullins (Deborah), Vicki Mullins (Chris), Becky Wooster (Rob), Carla Hall (Wayne), and Cheryl Carver (Steve); 14 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Virginia Lucille, Henry, and Manuel; a son-in-law, Lee Hall; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2024, at Heckart Funeral Home, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Casket bearers will be grandsons, Christopher Mullins, Cameron Carver, Kurt Henderson, Jeremy Mullins, Casey Mullins, and Bobby Hall. Melissa Evans will be an honorary bearer.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, with military honors presented by the U.S. Army.
