Bonnie Jean Collins, 75, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, after her long battle with lung cancer.
She was born April 13, 1941, in Sedalia, daughter of Elmer Ezekiel and Nellie Mae McBain Lane.
On June 15, 1962, in Sedalia, she married to William E. Collins, who survives of the home.
Bonnie worked for many years in the nursing field and then operated an antique shop with her husband for 25 years. Her life was centered around raising her six children and loving on her grandbabies. She will be remembered as spunky and stubborn, but she had a beautiful spirit. She also enjoyed reading, traveling and going to auctions.
In addition to her husband, survivors include six children: Anthony Collins (Joyce), of Sedalia, Kevin Collins, of Lincoln, Kirt Collins (Laura), of Sedalia, Bryan Collins, of Sedalia, Cherie Kelly (Tom), of Illinois, and Wendy Riechman (Corey), of Sedalia; eleven grandchildren: Josh, Meagen, Morgan, Jeremy, Amber, Taylor, Anissia, Alex, Maiah, McKenzie and Mason; eight great-grandchildren; one step-granddaughter, Kristie; and a sister, Sandura Miller, of Fort Worth, TX.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings: Bobby Jo Lane and Hollis Yeager.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 21, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
Casket bearers will be her sons.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in her name.
