Buford Jerry Schrader
Buford “Jerry” Schrader, 77, of LaMonte, passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 with his family by his side at EW Thompson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born October 1, 1943, in Qulin, MO, son of the late Buford C. and Ruth M. (Davis) Schrader. On January 12, 1961, he married Lillie Leloa “Tince” Weeks, who preceded him in death on April 5, 2020.
For many years, Jerry worked as maintenance in several factories, where he also proudly served as a union president. After retirement, he worked as a custodian and bus driver at Dresden School.
Jerry loved life and had a great appreciation for the great outdoors. He loved his family and his dog, Missy. He was known to be a great storyteller.
Survivors include: two daughters, Mechelle Beasley (David) of Creighton, Missouri and Regina Craig (Donnie) of Otterville, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Brandon (Heather), Macheznie (Haley), Brianna (Scott), Dustin, Mason and Reanna; four great-grandchildren: Emmett, Ella, Grayson and Libbie; and a special sister-in-law, Cathey Schrader.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son Steve Schrader; a brother, Michael T. Schrader; and a half sister, Opal Carr.
A Celebration of Life for Jerry and Tince will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
