Carl Amos Hopkins, 68, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, at his home.
He was born December 6, 1956, in Independence, a son of Alfred Martin "Mike" and Lois Marie Kathrine Schoppenhorst Hopkins.
Amos graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1975. He participated in the high school jazz band, concert band, and was an original member of the New Score Show Choir. Amos played in Branson, with New Score at Disney World in 2000, and at The Ivory Grille. He and his twin brother, Dennis, played throughout the area in their jazz combo.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Montreal, from 1976 to 1978.
Survivors include a sister, Deborah Ann Bauer, of Michigan; and four nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Norman Hopkins, John Dennis Hopkins and Ray Hopkins; and a sister, Susan Richey.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 17, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Highland Sacred Gardens.
