In Loving Memory…

Carl K. Faulk, 84, of Otterville, MO, formerly of Lawrence, KS and Rockport, TX, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born January 26, 1936, in Topeka, KS, a son of the late Charley Allen and Irene A. (Hestand) Faulk. On October 4, 1986, in Perry, KS, he married Ruth Foster (Vanderslice), who survives of the home.

He was a 1954 graduate of Washburn Rural High School, Topeka, KS. He served his country honorably in the US Army. He worked at KPL / Westar as a lineman and was district general foreman at the time of his retirement in May 1992.

Carl’s retirement job was “Papa Daycare” as he loved spending time with his grandkids.

He enjoyed the outdoors. He played golf and fished, and he loved taking road trips on his Harley or RVing depending on how many grandkids accompanied him on the trip. He went skydiving for the first (and only) time to celebrate his 80th birthday. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Jayhawks basketball fan. He was a member of VFW, American Legion and Eagles Lodge where he enjoyed the company of friends.

In addition to his wife, Ruth, he is survived by two sons: Carl Faulk, Jr. (Carlene), of Rockport, TX, and Christopher Faulk, of Lawrence, KS; five daughters: Reba Merritt (Ron), and Carla Faulk, both of Lawrence, KS, Melissa Sanford and Shelly Martin, both of Otterville, MO, and Katy Maxwell (Mark), of Tonganoxie, KS; a brother: William Faulk (Phyllis), of Wichita, KS; two sisters: Norma Lou Henderson and Ruth Ann Zimmerman, both of Topeka, KS; fifteen grandchildren: Joseph Faulk,  Melissa Jackson, Hayden Martin, Christopher Snoddy, Joshua Snoddy, Ella Sanford, Samuel Faulk, Lacy Klenklen (DJ), Caly Petrie (Tallon), Gage Maxwell, Jacob Maxwell, Nicholas Maxwell, Nathen Maxwell, Miley Maxwell and Ken Faulk; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Charley Allen “Bud” Faulk, Jr.; and two sisters: Ella Marie Hendrix and Naomi Lee “Toni” Adams.

A Celebration of Carl’s Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations/gift cards that they will use to adopt a family this Christmas in Carl’s name. They can be mailed to Heckart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 434, Sedalia, MO 65302.
