Carole Jean Salmon

Carole Jean Salmon, 82, of Jefferson City, formerly of Sedalia, passed away Saturday evening, December 21, 2024, at Capital Region Medical Center.

She was born March 17, 1942, in Jefferson City, daughter of Nelson and Lovella (Natsch) Vincent.

On November 26, 1964, in Jefferson City, she was united in marriage to Stewart Kipling “Kip” Salmon, who preceded her in death on March 26, 2020.

Carole was a 1960 graduate of Helias High School and earned a B.S. in elementary education from the University of Missouri in 1964. She taught in Jefferson City, Moberly, and most recently at Wesley United Methodist Preschool.

Carole was a devoted member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and the Faith Sisters Bible study group. She was a member of PEO Chapter BP, served on the board of Melita Day Nursery, and was active with her husband in supporting State Fair Community College.

She enjoyed playing cards, relaxing by the pool, and anything to do with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as faithful and outgoing. She loved her Sedalia community.

Surviving are two children, Stacia Bellmer (Herb), of Wheaton, IL and Scott Salmon (Allison), of Rogers, AR; four grandchildren, Allison Kannegieter (Austin), Andrew Bellmer (Maura), Emily Bellmer (Lazaro Aguiar), and Sydney Salmon; four great-grandchildren, Harper, Ella, Jude, and Arlo; two sisters, Lori Kempker (Mike), Cheri Brune (Danny); and two brothers, Gary Vincent (Lynn), and Larry Vincent (Trish).

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Vincent.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon Thursday, January 2, 2025, at the Sacred Heart Chapel of St. Vincent de Paul, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Honorary bearers will be Herb Bellmer, Andrew Bellmer, Mike Kempker, Danny Brune, Gary Vincent, and Larry Vincent.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Vincent de Paul Parish, or State Fair Community College Foundation for the nursing scholarship fund, in care of Heckart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 434, Sedalia, MO 65302.
