Charles E. “Chuck” Strohman

Charles Eugene “Chuck” Strohman, 76, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born January 24, 1939, in Emmetsburg, IA, son of Elmer and Evelyn Lundeen Strohman. On July 3, 1981, in Topeka, KS, he married Sharon Clark Franks, who survives of the home.

Mr. Strohman retired from the United State Air Force after 20 years of service, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. He served two tours in Vietnam. He earned a degree in auto mechanics and worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and spending time with his family and friends and his dog, Sheba. He was a member of the Sedalia Rod and Gun Club, and VFW.

In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Charles Eugene Strohman Jr., of Wellington, MO, Clemente R. Strohman (Pam), of Sedalia, Maria Mulvey, of Odessa, and Tim Strohman (Thao), of Overland Park, KS; ten grandchildren, Heather, Kenith, Stefania, Richard, Samantha, Giulia, Gessica, Giordan, Livia and Timothy; a sister, Jean Thompson, of Ida Grove, IA; three brothers, Gary Strohman, of Minnesota, Ted Strohman (Linda), of Emmetsburg, IA, and Roger Strohman (Marcy), of Emmetsburg, IA; and a brother-in-law, Larry Clark (Judy), of Miami, FL.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, John Howard.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 30, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jon Church officiating.

Casket bearers will be members of the U.S. Air Force.

Honorary bearers will be Dr. Henry Marquez, Doug Wallace, Harold Staus, Larry Moore, Chris Jewett, Rusty Bohnert, Kevin Kaiser, Bill Talbot and Clint Reyburn.

Burial with military honors will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, in care of the funeral home.
