Charles Milton Amos, 86, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
He was born July 11, 1935, in Sedalia, son of the late Charles and Mildred (Wright) Amos. On March 27, 1961, in Harrison, AR, he married Margie Louise (Blohm).
Charles was a 1954 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He served honorably in the United States Army. He worked as a billboard installer.
Charles was a Baptist and member of the American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and watching his grandkids play sports. He also enjoyed visiting with the East Hardee’s coffee group. He loved to visit and never met a stranger.
In addition to his wife, Margie, he is survived by four children, Charles Amos Jr. of Smithton, Melanie Amos of Raymore, Brian Amos (Sheila) of Smithton, and Brent Amos (Gloria) of Belton; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Glorie Young (Bussie) of St. Charles.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2022, at Heckart Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens, with military honors by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 2591.
