In Loving Memory…

Charles Thomas Schneider, 84, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

He was born July 24, 1929, in Chillicothe, MO, son of Robert and Grace Schneider. On September 20, 1950, in Chillicothe, he married Verleen Williams, who preceded him in death on December 31, 1999.

Mr. Schneider was a member and deacon of Sacred Heart Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are four children: Debra Casto (Kim), of Henderson, NV, Denise Fries (Gary), of Henderson, NV, Charles Schneider Jr. (Anita), of Sedalia, and Julie Day (Robbie), of Sedalia; six grandchildren: Steven, Robert, Christina, Troy, Brandon and Ashlea; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Morris, Robert and Gene; and two sisters: Mary and Theresa.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 6, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Father Mark Miller officiating.

Casket bearers will be Kim Casto, Robbie Day, Troy Schneider, Brandon Schneider, Robert Casto and Ashlea Voellinger. Steven Lefevers will be an honorary bearer.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army.

The Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, with visitation to follow until 7:00 p.m. at Heckart Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.
