Charles William Thompson, 73, of Hughesville, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Home.
He was born February 16, 1941, in Slater, son of William and Marjorie Crass Thompson. On May 20, 1960, in Hughesville, he was married to Sherry L. Nagel, who survives of the home.
Mr. Thompson retired from Maxion Wheels. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Lions International, the Elks, the Moose, the Eagles, and Pachyderm Club. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, visiting with friends and spending time with family.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Linda A. Ditch (Mike), of Topeka, KS, and Angela R. Thompson, of Sedalia; two grandchildren, Jared J. Bachman and Nicholas P. Eckstrom; four siblings, Roy W. Thompson (Helen), of Sedalia, Darlene Jeffries (Russell), of Olathe, KS, Mary L. Persinger (Karl), of Sedalia, and Donald W. Thompson (Frances), of Sedalia; and three half-brothers, John, James and Robert Thompson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry H. Thompson.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard Adams officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Wesley United Methodist Church.
