Charles William Hayworth

Charles William “Bill” Hayworth, 76, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015, at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

He was born January 15, 1939, in Sedalia, son of William Orville and Alice Lorraine Phillips Hayworth. On April 30, 1965, in Sedalia, he married Shirley Mae Yankee, who survives of the home.

Mr. Hayworth served honorably in the U.S. Army from November 1961 to November 1963. He retired as a custodian from Bunceton School.

He was a member of Lamine Baptist Church, Disabled American Veterans, the ALS Association, and was a former member of Central Missouri Coon Hunters Association, 3s and 8s CB Club, Carpenters Union and Teamsters Union.

He enjoyed farming, raising chickens, snagging, camping and playing with his grandkids.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, survivors include three children, Nancy Thierfelder (Michael), of Sedalia, Sandy Lide (Michael), of Rolla, and Donnie Hayworth (Missie), of Sedalia; 10 grandchildren, Nick Lindenmeyer, Tyler Lindenmeyer, Branden Thierfelder, Kevin Thierfelder, Clayton Thierfelder, Charles Lide, Andrew Lide, Kassie Lide, Bonnie DeBates and Emily Hayworth; nine great-grandchildren, Zoey, Macy, Izly, Abby, Ella, William, Roderick, Kayla and Jonah; a brother, Robert Hayworth, of Sedalia; and three sisters, Helen Gray, of Sedalia, Dana Hayworth, of Kansas City, and Debbie Blankenship, of Smithton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry Hayworth and Edward Hayworth; and a sister, Mildred Hall.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marlin Brown officiating.

Casket bearers will be Dennis Lee Mullins, Russ Hayworth, Steve Hayworth, Mike Hayworth, Jim Hayworth and Donnie Hayworth.

Honorary bearers will be Doug Hayworth, Randy Hayworth and Danny Hayworth.

Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 2591.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Heckart Funeral Home.
