Charlotte Pauline Staton

Charlotte Pauline Staton, 74, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Life Care Center in Carrollton.

She was born February 13, 1943, in Vallejo, CA, the daughter of John and Marjorie Ruth Wakefield.

On November 21, 1986, in Chillicothe, MO, she was united in marriage to Donald Staton.

Charlotte was a Christian and was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church in Sedalia. She held various occupations throughout her life including being a beautician, truck driver, EMT, and TV producer. She enjoyed computing, singing, boat riding and fishing. She loved being with her family and church family. She was always taking care of everybody and will be remembered for her loving personality.

In addition to her husband of 31 years, she is survived by eight children, Ronald Blankenship, of Lake Ozark, Sherry Gustin, of Kansas City, Penny Burk, of Kansas City, Dennis Blankenship, of Independence, Daniel Blankenship, of Ormond Beach, FL, Carmen Smith, of Dearborn, Leanna Graham, of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Crissy Staton, of Carrollton; four step-children, Julie Dick, of Sapulpa, OK, April Staton, Donald Staton Jr. and Rachel Harman, all of Carrollton; 34 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Patredis, Marjorie Pundmann and Beverly Saenz; and two brothers, John Wakefield and Kenneth Wakefield.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Crawford; and brother, Paul Wakefield.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Rehmer officiating.

Casket bearers will be her grandsons.

Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
