Christine Riley

Christine Riley, 93, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born October 20, 1924, to Frank and Nettie (Jones) Heizman at Shawnee Bend near Warsaw, MO. She attended a one-room school house in Shawnee Bend and in 1943 graduated from Warsaw High School.

Christine was an employee of the Crown Drug Co. in Sedalia, MO, and in later years worked at the C.W. Flower Co.

On August 16, 1945, she was married to George Riley of Sedalia, Mo. They lived in Sedalia all their over 65 years and they were blessed with three wonderful children, Patty, Mike and Rhonda.

Christine loved her family and was active in school activities, being past president of Whittier P.T.A. in 1953-54. She was a member of East Sedalia Baptist Church, over 50 years member of Order of Eastern Star, Elks ladies and Sedalia Shriner ladies club.

Christine is survived by her children, Patty Severide (Mike), Mike Riley (Jeri), and Rhonda Goertzen (Don); grandchildren, Sean Severide (Suzanne) and Jackson Riley; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Emma and Annie Severide; one sister, Voncille Hewett; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Riley; brother, Daniel Heizman; sister, Marie Ferguson; and great-granddaughter, Sarah Severide.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 17, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page officiating.

Casket bearers will be Mike Riley, Jackson Riley, Don Goertzen, Sean Severide and David Hickman.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to East Sedalia Baptist Church.
