Clara Mae Reno, 86, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born February 4, 1931, in Longwood, the daughter of Joseph R. Curry and Clara Y. Chaney Curry.
On December 4, 1948, in Texas, she was married to Billie Joe McKinzie. They divorced in 1962.
On March 6, 1963, she was married to Herman Paul Reno, who preceded her in death on February 23, 2008.
Clara worked many years in the food service industry. She enjoyed coffee with friends at McDonald’s and PaPa Jakes. Her hobbies included quilting, crocheting, cross stitch and gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Leota Ditton (Gary), of Green Ridge, and Mary Jo Jacobs (Greg), of Republic; four grandchildren, Tonya, Alan, Lori and Jessica; six great-grandchildren, Nichelle, Dolan, Claire, Truman, Klein and Alden; a sister, Virginia Smith, of Wichita, KS; two nieces and a nephew.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Susan Lane and Viola Curry.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 16, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Griffin officiating.
Casket bearers will be Greg Jacobs, Bob Hammons, Patrick Bonnot, Truman Bonnot, Deron Binkley and Dolan Hammons.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Heckart Funeral Home.
