Clarence Warren Sherrell, 88, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018, at his home.
He was born June 21, 1929, in Kansas City, KS, the son of Clarence and Lena (Truesdale) Sherrell.
Clarence was married to Lois Ann (Whitesell) Sherrell.
Mr. Sherrell worked for AT&T, retiring after forty years. He was also an ordained Baptist minister and started Maranatha Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS. He told everyone he met about the Lord and was an active member of Grace Baptist Church. He was an avid chess player and enjoyed reading westerns. Clarence was a loving father and friend to many. He leaves a legacy about the truth and love of Jesus.
Surviving are five children, Danny Sherrell, of Guthrie, KY, David Sherrell (Vena), of Overland Park, KS, Gary Sherrell, of Sedalia, Colleen Dunbar (John), of Baldwin City, KS, and Stephen Sherrell (Sandy), of DeSoto, KS; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lena Rose Orlich, of Gladstone.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Higgins; two sons, Warren Sherrell and Mark Sherrell; a granddaughter, Susan Lee Sherrell; one brother and two sisters.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at Open Door Baptist Church, 3033 N. 103

Terrace, Kansas City, KS 66109.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
