Cleo H. Norman, 85, of Sedalia, died Monday, August 19, 2013, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born March 6, 1928, in Ava, MO, son of Charles Harmon and Edna Mae Locklar Norman. He was married to Joyce Ann Witcher, who preceded him in death on May 14, 2000.
Mr. Norman retired from the Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen. He was a prior owner of the Friendly Tavern in downtown Sedalia. He was formerly a member of the Moose Lodge . He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, vegetable gardening, frogging, squirrel hunting, and watching sports, particularly college basketball and the Cardinals and Royals.
Surviving are two daughters, Rita Henson (Jim), of Otterville, and Larna Norman, of Warrensburg; a son, Ebby Norman (Rena), of Otterville; two step-children, Casey Ditton (Lisa), of Florida, and Ann Norman (Charles), of Knob Noster; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Laine; three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Roberta Karchner officiating.
Burial will be in Knob Noster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Heckart Funeral Home.
