Cleo R. “Pete” Casdorph, 68, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, June 13, 2016, at his home.
Born July 20, 1947, in Sedalia, MO. Son to Liddie Mae Furnell (mother) and Joseph Furnell. Cleo “Bud” Casdorph (father). Pete was 68 years old.
Pete received his nickname from his Grandfather. He always had pistols on his side when he was a boy. Pistol Pete they called him and Pete just stuck. He lived his whole life in Sedalia.
One sibling Joseph Michael Furnell, he called Little Brother.
He married Ruth Elaine (Moore) Casdorph in 1967. They were married 29 years.
Pete always wanted a boy, instead he got three daughters who loved him so. Christene and Billy Meyer, Jennifer Casdorph and Misty Casdorph. Pete had a sign that said “I hate kids, cats and dogs in that order.” Made by his daughter, Misty. We always laughed about it. His daughter Jennifer made him another sign. It said “Sanford & Daughters.” Christene had a t-shirt made for him. “Humor pisses me off.” He was a great man, father, and grandfather. He will be truly missed every day!
Pete’s companion was Anita Bentzinger. They were together 14 years.
Pete has nine grandchildren, Ciara Potter, Robert Potter, Savannah Potter, River Morrison, Ashton Casdorph, Caydence Casdorph, Devon Grose, Brianna Barr and Tripp Balke.
He retired from Consumers Supermarket after 23 years. Pete then helped his father Bud with the cattle farm.
Pete loved cars ever since he was a little boy. Cars were his passion, Corvettes being his favorite. Pete would spend as much time as possible rebuilding Corvettes with his friend Eddie Young.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, at Heckart Funeral Home.
Casket bearers will be Eddie Young, Gary Yancey, Ray Vogel, Bill Weller, Donnie Schrader, Jon Bentzinger and Justin Bentzinger.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a fund for his grandchildren.
