Crystel Danette “Cris” Kearney, 61, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at University Hospital in Columbia.
She was born January 24, 1962, in Sedalia, a daughter of George Daniel and Lydia Jane (Alexander) Kearney.

Cris was the life of the party and everyone loved being around her. She loved dressing up in creative costumes for Halloween. She was a creative spirit and enjoyed drawing and doodling.
You could usually find her with a gold can of beer and a left-handed cigarette. It’s when she was happiest.
She will be remembered as a good neighbor and for her caring nature.
Survivors include her dog, and best friend in the world, Clark; daughter, Nici Kearney, of Penrose, CO; her mother, Lydia Kearney, of Longwood; a sister, Jill Hieronymus (Sam), of Longwood; a grandson, Robert Walker, of Penrose, CO; and three special cousins, Bobby, Jason and Danny Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her father.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Friday, May 5, 2023 at Heckart Funeral Home.
Cris saved the tabs from aluminum cans for the Ronald McDonald House. There will be a basket to collect tabs in her memory at the Celebration of Life.
