Cynthia C. Morris, 71, of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
Born October 31, 1950, in Sedalia, she was one of two children of Rev. James A. and Janice (McMurdo) Cornwall.
On April 24, 1971, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Steven Fredrick Morris. This union was blessed with a son, Joshua.
Cynthia taught colored pencil classes to enthusiastic artists at Hobby Lobby in Sedalia for some time. Cynthia’s artistic ability was admired by many.
Cynthia worked for Bell Telephone Company as a Switchboard Operator in her early years.
Cynthia wore many hats through many years working for Third National Bank/Central Bank of Sedalia. Cynthia retired from Central Bank of Sedalia to enjoy the lake life in Warsaw.
Cynthia was an active member and President of Sedalia Visual Arts. Cynthia entered many pieces of art in the Missouri State Fair and won the Best of Show award in the Spring Fling Show. Cynthia was also an active member of Missouri Best of Hands.
Cynthia was an active member of Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA). She received her signature (CPSA) in 2004, five year merit award in 2006, and her ten year merit award in 2013. Her work was accepted in Explore This! once. Cynthia had colored pencil drawings published in several different volumes of the book, CP Treasures Masterworks From Around The Globe. You can also view Cynthia’s work in the American Artist Drawing magazines. Cynthia has drawings on exhibit throughout Missouri in different galleries.
Outside of Cynthia’s love for art, she adored animals and horses. Cynthia’s most precious fur babies were her dogs Stubby and Louie. Louie resides with her kids Josh and Emma.
Cynthia was an avid Royals fan never missing a ballgame. The Chiefs were her 2nd favorite sports team while being the ultimate “Raider hater”.
Cynthia was larger than life with a great sense of humor and contagious laughter. Cynthia had a beautiful smile that lit up the room. Cynthia had great loyalty to her family and friends. Cynthia showed love in many forms and didn’t hesitate to be there when needed. Cynthia had great faith in her walk with the Lord and blessed many with prayers and a servant’s heart. Cynthia achieved being the best wife, mother, and grandmother she could be.
Survivors include her son, Josh Morris and daughter-in-law Emma, of Warsaw; her mother, Janice Cornwall, of Warsaw; a granddaughter, Brooklyn Morris; and a brother, Allen Cornwall, of Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, on June 3, 2020; her father, Rev. Jim Cornwall; and granddaughter, Avia Meek.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Rev. Jack Menges officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in Dresden Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Sedalia Christian Center, where Cynthia was a member.
