Dale A. Anderson

Dale Adolph Anderson, 86, of Sedalia, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 22, 2017, at his home.

He was born May 27, 1931, in Bismarck, North Dakota, the son of Adolph Herman Anderson and Paulina Spitzer Anderson.

He was united in marriage to Marilyn Smith on May 7, 1953, in Sedalia.

Dale was a 1949 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He served in the United States Air Force in the Korean War, reaching the rank of Airman First Class.

He worked for Southwestern Bell, AT&T and Lucent as a telephone installer, repairman and systems analyst for over 35 years. After retirement he started Anderson Communications.

Dale was a member of First Christian Church, where he was Deacon Emeritus and served on the board of the Reed Center Apartments, serving as president for a few years.

Dale enjoyed working on old cars, particularly Fords and Studebakers and was president of the Studebaker Club. He enjoyed gardening and was also a skilled woodworker, making over a thousand crosses for new church members. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Marilyn, he is survived by two children, Keith Anderson (Bonnie), of Bates City, and Heather Glover (Ed), of Moncks Corner, SC; and three grandchildren, Riley Anderson, Braden Glover and Brock Glover.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; two brothers; and two infant daughters.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at First Christian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Chad McMullin officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Air Force  and VFW Post 2591.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to ALS Association or First Christian Church.
