Dale William Jackson, 83, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born August 8, 1931 in Vinton, IA, to Earl and Ruth Huseman Jackson. He is married to Stella (Lutjen), who survives of the home.
Dale was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed collecting coins and baseball cards, model planes and trains, and doing genealogy. He got his pilot’s license after retirement.
He served in the Army in the Korean War and the National Guard for over 20 years.
In addition to his wife, Stella, survivors include four sons, Steve Jackson, Seattle, WA; Jerry Jackson (Liz), Overland Park, KS; Rod Jackson (Jane), Kansas City, KS; Tim Jackson, New Bloomfield; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Joseph, Rachel, John, Teresa, Caroline, Amanda, Cory and Abbey; two great-grandchildren, Braden and Dayton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Jackson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 6, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Jeff Page officiating.
Casket bearers will be Cory Jackson, Joseph Jackson, Andrew Wilbers and Travis Wilbers.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors by VFW Post 2591.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service.
