Daniel W. Tuggle

Daniel William Tuggle, 82, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Bothwell Regional Health Center, surrounded by family and friends.

He was born September 2, 1934, in Neosho, the son of Charles William Tuggle and Iva (Ball) Tuggle.

Daniel was married to Allison (Cutburth), who preceded him in death in 2008.

On February 7, 2009, he was united in marriage to Martha Sievers.

Daniel was a member of Carpenters’ Union 777 for most of his construction career and worked for J.E. Dunn Construction for 42 years prior to retiring.

He was a Christian and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

While his kids were growing up he coached them in baseball and was involved with them in 4-H. Daniel enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping and was a skilled cabinet maker. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He especially loved his two poodles, Ginger and April.

He will be remembered as strong, loving and funny.

In addition to his wife, Martha, he is survived by three children, Reeca Arnold, of Houstonia, Bonnie Ball (Jerry), of Houstonia, and Rusty Tuggle (Myra), of Sedalia; 12 grandchildren, Jared Arnold (Shela), Allison Johnson (Rick), Eric Arnold, Hope Arnold, Joe Arnold (Julie), Ben Arnold (Heather), Rhonda Morrill (Toby), Andy Arnold, David Ball (Pam) and John Ball, Kate Neu (Mike) and  Nicholas Tuggle,; 25 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Eva Goin, of Medford, Oregon.

In addition to his parents and wife, Allison, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald Arnold; three grandchildren, Velma Gottschalk, Logan Ball and Christopher Ball; and brother, Jackie Tuggle.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Harper officiating.

Casket bearers will be his grandchildren: Joe, Jared, Allison, Ben, Rhonda, Eric, Andy, Kate, Nick, Hope and his great-grandson, Trevor, in honor of his mother, Velma.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Heckart funeral Home.
