Danny W. Williams

December 5, 1952 — May 31, 2024

Green Ridge

Danny Wayne Williams, 71, of Green Ridge, MO, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

He was born December 5, 1952, in Kennett, MO, son of Doyen J.B. and Bessie Mae (Starnes) Williams.

On August 11, 2000, in Sedalia, MO, he was married to Debra M. (Peterman) Rowe.

In earlier years, Dan was well known in the lumber and sawmilling industry and owned a sawmill at one point. Later, he worked in maintenance at State Fair Community College. He was a beloved member of the college “family” and was an avid supporter of college athletics.

He had a love for sports, which included playing baseball, softball, and golf, and was affectionately given the nickname of “D-9/Niner” among the softball community. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Danny had the philosophy of “do it right and do it right the first time.” He was strong and stubborn, and found the fun in everything. His grandchildren lit up his eyes and warmed his heart.

Surviving are his wife, Debra, of the home; a daughter, Jennifer Williams McClanahand (Chris), of Frederickton, MO; two stepsons, Joshua Rowe (Michele), of Independence, MO, and Tollie Rowe (Nicole), of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Alexa Rowe, Lizzie Crouch, Adam Rowe and Ryder McClanahand; five siblings, Randy Williams (Camela), of Fredericktown, Deborah Rauls (John), of Fredericktown, Martha Showers (David), of Virginia, Keena Hamburger (Jason), of Fredericktown, and Jay Williams (Patty Jane), of Pawnee, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Parkview Christian Church, with Minister Jeff Randleman officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
