David Alan Koeller, 70, of Wellsville, formerly of Sedalia, died Monday, February 18, 2019, in Wellsville.
He was born May 8, 1948, in Sedalia, son of Lawrence Ernest Koeller and Mildred Elinor (Thompson) Koeller.
David served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Browns Electric and later Independent Electric. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, guns, playing pool, as well as watching NASCAR and Mizzou sports. He will be remembered for his quick wit and for always making you smile.
Surviving are two children, Kristopher Koeller, of Durham, NC, and Jimmy Koeller, of North Richland Hills, TX; a step-daughter, Wendy Hulahan, of St. Louis; two nieces, Leslie Wehmeyer and Terri Ballard; and a nephew, Larry Lee Koeller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Larry Lee Koeller, Sr.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Scott Griffin officiating.
Honorary bearers will be Chris Spence, Don Thompson and Larry Lee Koeller.
Burial will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 2591.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
