In Loving Memory

David B. Anderson, 65, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013, at NorthCare Hospice House in North Kansas City.

He was born November 8, 1947, in Warrensburg, son of Tommie J. and Darline Scrivner Anderson. On April 12, 1979, in Kansas City, he married Laura A. Cook Anderson, who survives of the home.

Mr. Anderson was a 1965 graduate of North Kansas City High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and a member and former board member of the Kansas City CFA Society.

He began his investment career at Financial Counselors, Inc., followed by Commerce Bank. From 1979 to 2000, he worked for UMB, and from 2000 to 2006, he worked for Gold Trust Company, heading marketing, trust investments and investment divisions. In 2006, he returned to FCI (Midwest Trust Company) as Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer as well as manager of the FCI Value Equity Fund, head of the Value Equity and Equity Income Investment Committees and lead portfolio manager of the Value Equity team.

He was a member of Englewood Baptist Church. He was an avid Royals, Chiefs and Missouri Tigers fan. He had a great sense of humor, loved to tell stories and had an incredible work ethic as evidenced by his investment newsletter and hosting a weekly financial radio program.

In addition to his wife of 34 years, he is survived by four children, Jennifer A. Anderson, of Fort Worth, TX, Sarah L. Davolt and her husband, Brian, of Kansas City, Stephen B. Anderson and his wife, Sarah, of Kansas City, and Lindsey R. Anderson, of Kansas City; four grandchildren, Tyler A. Davolt, Cameron N. Davolt, Katelyn E. Anderson and William B. Anderson; and a sister, Barbara K. Ladd and her husband, Glenn, of Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Englewood Baptist Church, 1900 NE Englewood Road, Kansas City, MO, followed by a memorial service at 7:30 p.m.

Private internment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions are suggested to University of Missouri Alumni Association or Elmwood Cemetery.
