David Leon Bricker, 79, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016, at The Living Center in Marshall.
He was born February 28, 1937 in Terre Haute, Indiana, son of Raymond and Alice (Goodman) Bricker.
David enjoyed playing golf when he was younger and was a talented artist. He was involved in the Kansas City Soap Box Derby, and took many kids under his wing to help them build their soap boxes. He worked as a baker in cookie factories. He had a special bond with his granddaughter, Emily, and was very supportive of all of her activities.
He is survived by two daughters, Misty DePatie (David), of Sedalia and Susan Lyons, of Indiana; one son, Jeff Bricker, of Indiana; two grandchildren, Emily Franklin and Aidyn DePatie; a brother, Clarence Bricker, of Indiana; and a sister, Jeanette Tidd, of Lewis, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Margaret Hollingsworth and Joan Marshall; and a brother, Kenny Bricker.
A visitation will be held from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2016, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.
