David W. Reith
David Wayne Reith, 61, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
He was born April 22, 1955, in Lexington, the son of Leonard Reith and Nadean (Hemme) Reith.
David was united in marriage to Susan Melanie Tieman on April 19, 1975, in Blackburn.
He worked for Sedalia Tool and Manufacturing and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
David liked to tell jokes and enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and watching westerns. His nickname was “Fuzzy” because of his beard.
In addition to his wife, Susan, he is survived by two children, Amber Hutcherson (Carl), of Warrensburg, and Justin Reith, of Sedalia; two granddaughters, Chloe and Sadie; a brother, Rick Reith, of Warrensburg; and his mother, Nadean Reith, of Concordia.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Kent Hutcherson officiating.
Casket bearers will be Brian Lamb, Kelly Tieman, Brett Tieman, Truman Reith, Michael Porter and Steve Acklin.
Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Blackburn.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Lion’s Eye Bank, American Diabetes Association or Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
