Dawn K. Compton

Dawn Kimberly Compton, 56, of Windsor, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.

She was born February 6, 1961, in Sedalia, the daughter of Charles Edward Dial and June Knox Dial.

On November 18, 1984, in Sedalia, she was married to Dwayne A. Compton.

Dawn owned and operated The Kid Konnection daycare and preschool for 27 years. She also owned and operated Tesori Lane Boutique. She attended First United Methodist Church.

To Dawn, family was everything. She loved family get-togethers, going to her grandkids’ functions, and planning family reunions. She had a big, loving heart for everyone and always put others before herself. She was compassionate, caring and generous, and treated everyone like family.

Dawn loved being at the farm and caring for her flowers or mowing. She was a very talented person in many ways, which included making crafts, painting, decorating. She also had a heart for Strong Tower orphanage in Haiti and made jewelry to raise funds. She enjoyed vacations and traveling around the world.

Surviving are her husband of 33 years, Dwayne; five children, Krista Corbett and her husband, Bryan, of Ridgeway, Keith Hall and his wife, Jodi, of Carrollton, Kari Touhey and her husband, Ryan, of Springfield, Chelsea Compton, of Sedalia, and Catherine Fidler and her husband, Clayton, of Blue Springs; her mother, June Dial, of Sedalia; ten grandchildren, Ashley, Scott, Kinser, Chance, Avery, Quinn, Rowan, Ainsley, Christian and Livi; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Kathy Broyles, of Marshall.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, at First United Methodist Church Celebration Center.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, at the church.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
