Deborah Jean Phillips, 61, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at Fair View Nursing Home.
She was born March 11, 1955, in Jefferson City, the daughter of Elbert J. “Bud” and Dora Lee Twyman Phillips.
Debbie worked as a printer for Inter-State Studio for 27 years.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and had a deep and abiding faith that carried her through many health struggles in recent years. For over 35 years, she taught Sunday School, Children’s Church, Vacation Bible School and worked in the nursery.
Debbie enjoyed genealogy, music, playing board games and spending time with family. She will be remembered as loving, strong, brave, compassionate and faithful.
She is survived by one brother, Steven J. Phillips (Colleen), of Sedalia; two sisters, Bonnie Sue Phillips and Tammy N. Phillips, both of Sedalia; nieces and nephews, Melissa Hunton (Aaron), Leah Batman (Donnie), Craig Phillips (Christi), B.J. Monteer and Charlie Monteer; aunts and uncles; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Tony L. Phillips; and a sister, Cindy K. Phillips.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 19, 2016, at New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Duane Duchesne officiating.
Casket bearers will be Terry Pummill, Gerry Pummill, Keith Pummill, Tim Twyman, Ron Phillips, Bob Phillips, Mitch Egner and Bryan “Bear” Kuhlman.
Honorary bearers will be aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery near Florence.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, November 18, at Heckart Funeral Home.
