Deborah Sue Keele

Deborah Sue “Debbie” Keele, 73, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024 in Boulder, CO.

She was born December 16, 1950, in Sedalia, a daughter of the late T.H. and Virginia (Johnson) Gibson. In 1968, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Sedalia, she married Donald Lee Keele who preceded her in death on October 27, 2012.

Debbie was raised in LaMonte and was a 1968 graduate of LaMonte High School. She worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and Kingsolver CPA before opening  her own business, Debbie Keele Accounting. After closing her business, she was the the CFO of Orthotics and Prosthetics Management until she retired due to health issues.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish. She had previously served on parish council at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Warsaw.

Debbie and Donald enjoyed traveling the country attending and showing their classic cars. She enjoyed being on the go. She continued traveling after her husband’s passing and especially enjoyed going to casinos.

Debbie had a vast collection of Santas. She loved preparing and decorating for the holidays. Debbie loved hosting holiday events and expected her family to be together.

She loved her children and grandchildren, was a wonderful sister and a friend to everyone.

Survivors include a daughter, Tyrena Scott (Brian), of Sedalia; two sisters, Pam Ragar (Monty), of Warsaw, and Gina Doogs (Tim), of Sedalia; and four grandchildren, Kelsy Warlen (Trevor), Korbin Scott, Kole Scott, all of Sedalia, and Karly Keele, of Warsaw.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Lee Keele II.

Memorial Mass will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, St. Patrick Chapel with Father Joe Corel presiding.

Visitation will be 9:00 am until service time at the church.

Interment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Vincent de Paul Parish or Disabled American Veterans in care of Heckart Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.
