Delores McMullin Cantwell, age 84, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Sunday, August 12, 2018, at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Home.

She was born August 5, 1934, in Beaman, MO, daughter of Frank and Nina Retherford McMullin.

On October 18, 1952, she married Larry Waller.

On January 29, 1970, she married Kenneth Cantwell, who passed away October 4, 1994.

Delores was a graduate of Lamine Country School and Smithton High School. She loved being a mother, grandmother and homemaker, taking care of her home, having a beautiful well-cared-for lawn and “being there” for anyone who had a need. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals and deserts for family and friends. She was noted for her made-from-scratch coconut pie, pumpkin bread, carrot cake, cinnamon rolls, etc.

She was a big country and gospel music fan, and loved playing cards and croquet. She really enjoyed the beautiful sunsets and would call friends to tell them they must look at the sunset.

She was an active member of the Parkway Free Will Baptist Church. She taught the Primary Sunday School class for a number of years and then served as church secretary/treasurer and pianist for 25 years.

Delores worked as a secretary for W&M Welding for 29 years, retiring at the age of 83.

She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed.

Loved ones she leaves behind are a daughter, Karren Gebhart and husband Jim, of Smithton; two sons, Mark and Paul Waller, of Sedalia; eight grandsons, Dylan Waller, of Wheat Ridge, CO, Mark Anthony Waller, Nathan Waller and wife Jessica, Thomas Waller, all of Kansas City, MO, Joseph Waller and Waylon Burns, of Sedalia, William Burns, of Jeff City, Mark Anthony Pringle, of Sedalia; two granddaughters, Mary Francis Waller and Jessica Coffel and husband Stanley, of Sedalia; eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Wayne McMullin, Lyle McMullin and Daryle McMullin and wife Linda, all of Sedalia; special friend Tim Koch; and special niece, Terri Cramer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sherri; two sisters, LaVera Fisher and Alda Hyatt Steele; and brother, Glenn McMullin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 16, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dan Talbott officiating.

Casket bearers will be Tim Koch, Alex Meek, Jeffrey McMullin and grandsons.

Burial will be in Potter Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
