Donald Dean McMullin, 85, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at his home.
He was born December 27, 1937, in northeastern Pettis County, a son of John F. and Alta (Potter) McMullin. On December 21, 1958, he married Patricia A. (Lane) at East Sedalia Baptist Church in Sedalia.
He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1955 to 1959.
Donald professed his faith in Christ as a young boy. He was an active member of East Sedalia Baptist Church, served as a deacon for over 50 years, taught Sunday School, was Sunday School Superintendent, sang in the choir, and did prison ministry.
He enjoyed gardening, tinkering and inventing things. Don will be remembered as a kind and affectionate man, who loved God, his church, and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia, of the home; three children, Sara Harvilla (Bob), Peter McMullin (Kathy) and Amanda McMullin, all of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Anna Harvilla (Craig Witte), Lucas McMullin (Alli) and Joseph Harvilla; two great-grandsons, Bentley and Elliott; three sisters, Mildred Walker, JoAnn Birdsong and Vivian Gertson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alta McMullin; two brothers, John McMullin and Claude McMullin; and two sisters, Viola Jaskolski and Kay Hepburn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Rev. Kevin Anstine officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Heckart Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, with full military honors.
The family suggests memorial contributions to East Sedalia Baptist Church.
