Donald L. Aggeler

Donald Lee Aggeler, 88, of Clifton City, passed away Sunday morning, October 16, 2022, at his home.

He was born August 7, 1934, in Cooper County, son of Hubert “Buddy” and Bernice (Schuster) Aggeler.

On October 30, 1954, in Kansas City, he married Dorothy Ann (Kramps), who preceded him in death on March 8, 2002.

Donnie served in the U.S. Army from 1957 to 1959. Upon return, he ran Aggeler’s MFA in Clifton City, initially with his father and then with his brother, Lyle. He then worked for the Division of Liquor Control, retiring in 1999 as district supervisor.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Moose Lodge 1494, and served on the Clifton City Fire Department.

Donnie enjoyed dancing, riding his motorcycle and fishing. He was well respected and will be remembered as kind, practical, honest and genuine.

Surviving are four children, Carolyn Aggeler, Daniel Aggeler, Christine Hurt (Kyle), all of California, and Marvin Aggeler (Amy), of Columbia; seven grandchildren, Zachary Woody, Justin Hurt, Jesse Hurt, Jason Woody, Sarah Hurt, Matthew Hurt and Kayleigh Aggeler; four great-grandchildren; six siblings, Juanita Klein (Donald), Phyllis White, Harold Aggeler (Charleen), Lyle Aggeler (Carolyn), Marilyn Felten (David), and Ted Robert Aggeler (Vicki); and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three children, Michael, Linda and Martin; and three siblings, Vincent, Maureen and Ted Ray.

The Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, with visitation to follow until 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilot Grove.

Casket bearers will be Zachary Woody, Justin Hurt, Jesse Hurt, Jason Woody and Matthew Hurt and Stephen Siegel.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Clifton City.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic School in Pilot Grove.
