Dorothy Glee Huddleston, 94, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born December 27, 1919, in Sedalia, daughter of Phillip Rothrock and Mary Elizabeth Beeler Burford. On April 24, 1949, in Sedalia, she married Charles Morris Huddleston, who survives of the home.
Mrs. Huddleston was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was active in the women’s clubs and various other ministries. She was a member of Business and Professional Women, Helen G. Steele Music Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Sedalia Duplicate Bridge Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, golfing and traveled with an adventurous spirit throughout the world.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, survivors include three children: Richard Huddleston (Judy), of Detroit, MI, Chuck Huddleston (Marye), of St. Louis, and Diana Ryan (Timothy), of Kansas City; eight grandchildren: Laura, Rachel, Alex, Sophia, Natalie, Stephanie, Lindsay and Kristen; one great-granddaughter, Kenzie; and a sister, Virginia Spalding, of Iowa City, IA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny Huddleston; and siblings: Marguerite, Bob, Harry, Bill and Phillip.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard Adams officiating.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
